On Wednesday, 26 February, the premiere of the virtual reality experience “Creation of the Worlds” took place at the Klaipėda Culture Factory. This is the second virtual journey of directors Kristina Buožytė and Vitalius Žukas, presented in Western Lithuania, inviting the audience to become creators and nurturers of new worlds. The immersive audiovisual journey combines art, technology and storytelling, allowing participants to directly engage with the virtual environment.
Vitalijus Žukas, the director of this experience, is delighted that this innovative project has been presented in Klaipėda. “Klaipėda is a city where new media art is gaining ground, and the Culture Factory is becoming a great platform for bold creative experiments. “Creation of the Worlds is not only a demonstration of technology, but also an invitation to the viewer to get involved in the creation of a story and to experience how the boundaries between reality and virtuality are changing,” says V. Žukas.

Lukas Verpetinskas, who is in charge of the project’s development in Lithuania, stresses that VR experiences are becoming an increasingly important part of cultural events, and Klaipėda was chosen for a reason. “Klaipėda has a strong creative community, a curious audience and the right infrastructure, which is why “Creation of the Worlds” has found a natural environment to grow and attract both locals and visitors. We hope that the renovated space will attract even more Klaipėda residents and tourists to spend time together and get to know the wonderful Lithuanian genius M.K. Čiurlionis even more”, – says L. Verpetinskas.

Raimonda Masalskienė, the manager of the Klaipėda Culture Factory, couldn’t believe how this place has changed in just a few months. “Not long ago, this building was our gym in the basement, and today the Culture Factory is developing into a real cinema cluster with several exhibitors, filmmakers, a film office and film education. I am delighted that it was here that the premiere of “Creation of the Worlds” took place, bringing yet another modern cultural experience to our city,” says R. Masalskienė.
After a successful premiere in Klaipėda, Creation of the Worlds travels to more than 70 cities and towns in Lithuania, giving more and more people the opportunity to experience the magic of virtual reality art and to become the creators of new worlds themselves.
