The journey through the world of Čiurlionis, which has enchanted the whole of Lithuania with its “Trail of Angels”, has reached Greece. On 12 February, the European Centre for the Arts in Athens hosted the grand opening of the exhibition “Dreams of the Soul: The World of M. K. Čiurlionis’ Visions”. The event, organised in cooperation with the National M. K. Čiurlionis Museum of Art, commemorates the 150th anniversary of M. K. Čiurlionis’ birth.

The exhibition features 12 reproductions of Čiurlionis’s paintings, created using the most advanced 3D modelling and artificial intelligence technologies. In addition, an exclusive virtual reality experience “On the “Trail of Angels” is presented, allowing a deeper immersion into the artist’s creative world and experiencing the magic of his works with the help of new technologies.
“Painter, composer, poet and dreamer M.K. Čiurlionis saw sound in colours and colours in sound. His paintings, often referred to as visual symphonies, inspire a deep sense of harmony, mysticism and transcendence,” said Lithuanian Ambassador to Greece Lina Skerstonaitė.
At the opening event, the interest in the exhibition exceeded expectations – the gallery administrator confirmed that the number of visitors is only increasing, with a particularly strong interest expected at weekends. Hundreds of Greek art lovers are expected to see the enchanting journey of “Trail of Angels” over the next month.

“It is great to be able to present the most famous Lithuanian artist all over the world, to introduce his work and music in cooperation with embassies, and the “Trail of Angels” project allows us to do this in a very unique way,” said Lukas Verpetinskas, the project’s director.
