The summer tradition continues: “Trail of Angels” and “Creation of the Worlds” return to Palanga

For the third summer in a row, the virtual reality (VR) experiences that have captivated all of Lithuania and garnered international recognition are returning to the country’s summer capital, inviting visitors to immerse themselves in the magical world of Mikalojus Konstantinas Čiurlionis. From June 19 until the end of summer, vacationers and locals are welcome at the Palanga Concert Hall, where two unique and immersive art experiences await them: “Trail of Angels” and “Creation of the Worlds.”

The fact that this project is taking place at the Palanga Concert Hall for the third summer in a row proves that VR’s encounters with the works of M. K. Čiurlionis have become an integral part of a high-quality seaside vacation and the cultural life of the resort town.

The organizers are delighted that, following the highly successful #PoLietuvą tour, Palanga is once again the place where visitors can enjoy the longest—a full two and a half months—of virtual reality art.

Two different yet complementary experiences

The VR work “Trail of Angels” has already become something of a calling card for this project—visitors often mention the sense of peace, contemplation, and inner harmony they experience, which blends particularly well with the relaxing spirit of the sea. Meanwhile, “Creation of the Worlds” offers a more intense engagement with art: here, the viewer transforms from a passive observer into an active participant in the creative process, wandering through the spaces of the genius’s paintings.

“Palanga is a special place for us. We’re delighted that, for the third summer in a row, we’re able to be here and give both residents and visitors the opportunity to discover the work of M. K. Čiurlionis in a completely new way. We see that people are looking not only for entertainment, but also for meaningful cultural experiences that leave a lasting impression,” says project director Austėja Staniulevičiūtė.

For a Deeper Understanding – An Educational Introduction

To ensure that visitors have the most immersive experience possible, the organizers have prepared a special introduction. It is an educational narrative that helps visitors more easily decipher the mystical symbols of M. K. Čiurlionis and understand his philosophy and emotional context. This preparation allows visitors to experience the works on a much deeper and more personal level.

Virtual reality sessions will take place at the Palanga Concert Hall from June 19 to August 30. Tickets for the screenings can be purchased on-site or online.
