This year, 23 May marks a special time in culture, when visitors are invited to embark on a nocturnal adventure – the Night of Museums. On this occasion, the Sensory Art Centres in Vilnius and Kaunas are joining the initiative, inviting the public to experience virtual reality in the “Trail of Angels” and “Creation of the Worlds” experiences.
Čiurlionis’ paintings have always balanced between reality and dream, between earthly existence and cosmic space. Symbolically, it is on the night of the Museums that these worlds take on an even stronger emotional charge. When the bustle of the city is replaced by the calm of the evening, the images and music that come to life in virtual reality allow the viewer to be fully immersed in a visual symphony, where light and sound sound are quite different from those of daytime.

Offer for night wanderers
To celebrate this, the organisers are opening additional night screenings in Vilnius and Kaunas on the evening of 23 May. Visitors will also receive a special gift – the chance to see award-winning virtual reality experiences for a symbolic price. All evening screenings on this night will cost only €10.
“Museum Night is about a different kind of relationship with art. It’s a time when the visitor is not in a hurry, when they are looking for a deeper experience. We believe that the opportunity to walk along Čiurlionis’ “Trail of Angels” or watch “The Creation of the Worlds” at night will become one of the most vivid memories of this spring,” say the organisers.

Limited number of seats
Although the digital space seems infinite, the number of seats in the Sensory Art Centres is limited. Due to the high level of interest in the Museum Night events, visitors are encouraged to book their tickets in advance. For more information on screening times and ticketing, please visit the official project website.
Let this evening be an opportunity to escape the everyday for a short while and immerse yourself in the worlds of virtual reality inspired by M. K. Čiurlionis.
