“Creation of the Worlds” triumphed in Prague

The virtual reality experience Creation of the Worlds, created by Vitalijus Žukas and Kristina Buožytė, continues its journey around the world — this time the work received two awards at the Art*VR Festival held in the Czech Republic.
The Lithuanian creators’ project was awarded for Best Design and also earned third place in the Audience Award category.

The festival showcased 14 of the best extended reality (XR) projects of the past year, combining cutting-edge technology with inspiring visual style and storytelling. Bringing together leading virtual reality creators from across Europe, the festival took place this year in Prague.

“Both of these awards are very important to us, as they show that the work is able to touch the viewer emotionally. To be among creators from all over Europe who use VR not merely as a tool, but as a new artistic language, is an inspiring experience,” said director Vitalijus Žukas,

He added that the festival itself left a strong impression — it is a space where technology and art become equal partners.

The Art*VR Festival is an event where creators from different countries come together to use VR as a language to speak about the human experience, emotions, and our relationship with the world. According to the creator, festivals like this make it possible to see where the field is heading, inspire bolder experimentation, and encourage artists to set new creative challenges for themselves.

Creation of the Worlds immerses viewers in a mysterious, symbol-rich universe where visual and auditory sensations merge into one — every image and sound becomes a bridge between the physical and the spiritual realms. In this space, colors begin to resonate, music takes on form, and the entire experience is wrapped in a magical atmosphere that invites deep immersion and discovery of the secrets within the work of Mikalojus Konstantinas Čiurlionis.

Creator Kristina Buožytė emphasizes that these recognitions are important not only for the team itself, but also in a broader context — for Lithuania, whose name is increasingly being mentioned among the most innovative art projects in Europe.

“Recognition is always gratifying — it shows that your work is valued and that a certain level has been reached, both technically and artistically,” emphasized Kristina Buožytė. “It also demonstrates that Lithuania is present where innovation is happening. Every acknowledgment of our work speaks not only about us, but also about Mikalojus Konstantinas Čiurlionis. Our mission is for Čiurlionis to be discovered by as many people as possible — not only Lithuanians, but audiences around the world.”

According to the creator, Creation of the Worlds is, at its core, a work about light.

“Mikalojus Konstantinas Čiurlionis’ art is about light. Creation of the Worlds is also about light, which is why it feels especially close to me. It speaks about the ability to see beauty, to notice goodness, and reminds us that each of us is a creator,” emphasized Kristina Buožytė.

While Creation of the Worlds continues its journey across international festivals, visitors to the Czech Museum of Music can still experience the first part of the VR journey — Trail of Angels — until the end of October.

In Lithuania, audiences can experience both journeys in Vilnius, Kaunas, Klaipėda, Šiauliai, and other cities across the country.
