Lithuania’s major cities offer plenty of opportunities to enjoy the arts, with exciting, contemporary exhibitions, education, concerts, performances and other cultural events. However, we have noticed that in smaller towns and cities, the situation is quite different: there is a lack of opportunities for people to enjoy cultural activities. Seeing this trend, we decided that the virtual film “Trail of Angels” needed to travel #AroundLithuania. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n

This is how we have already introduced the virtual film “Trail of Angels” to the inhabitants of nearly 40 towns and cities. Since 22 February, the residents of Utena can also see this educational film at the Museum of Regional History of Utena. At the end of February, the first screening of the film was attended not only by representatives of art, culture and media, but also by a large number of art-hungry residents of Utena. We presented them with our pride – a virtual reality film created by Kristina Buo\u017eyt\u0117 and Vitalius \u017dukas, dedicated to the work of Lithuanian painter and composer Mikolaj \u010ciurlionis. <\/p>\n\n

The popularity of our film in Utena has surpassed our own expectations – people continue to grab tickets for virtual screenings. This only proves that the inhabitants of smaller towns really lack modern cultural and educational events. <\/p>\n\n

During each session, we invite visitors to enter the magical world of the genius artist M. K. \u010ciurlionis. In just half an hour, viewers are reacquainted with 60 of the artist’s paintings, including “Peace”, “Angels”, “Sun” and others. Some of them are well-known, others are less frequently seen. <\/p>\n\n

This experience is complemented by the artist’s music and the storyline that connects the characters in his works, allowing the entire work of genius to be seen in a completely different way – interactive, immersive and enchanting. Visitors are captivated not only by the artistic and cultural heritage of the artist himself, but also by the educational experience itself – the viewer travels through the work of M. K. \u010ciurlionis in the first person throughout the film. It is virtually impossible to experience this simply by walking through a gallery or museum. <\/p>\n\n

By observing the visitors, we can see that the virtual film “Trail of Angels” is also becoming a family entertainment. This makes us very happy, because our aim in creating “The Trail of Angels” was to interest not only adults, but also the little ones in the family. After all, it is the younger generation that tends to be less interested in culture and art – especially if it is about the past. And with 38 cities and towns and 265 schools showing this educational project, which combines art with technology, we can see that it can reach and engage even the youngest viewers. <\/p>\n\n
