An award-winning VR experience in LITHUANIA

“A Long Goodbye” is a poignant love story filled with symbolism, about 72-year-old pianist Ida and the bond she shares with her husband Daniel, which remains strong even as they face difficulties. As Ida experiences memory problems, the story remains centred on their deep love and their most precious memories, which colour Ida’s everyday life.

In this animated, interactive virtual reality experience, visitors are invited to see the world through Ida’s eyes and spend a day from her perspective. As Ida’s memory deteriorates, Daniel looks for ways to bring her memories back. Through the voice recordings he has left behind, Ida’s memories come to life and colour her reality once again, like paintings created in watercolour.

Lithuanian dubbing: Vaiva Mainelytė and Juozas Budraitiss

A moving experience that will touch everyone’s heart

“A Long Goodbye” is more than a work portraying dementia as an illness. It is a deeply moving and heart-wrenching story about two lovers who spent many years together and faced their own “long goodbye” — a story that touches the heart of every participant.
